Hello, traders. Welcome to the Advanced MT4 Course, and the third module, Tips and Tricks. In this video, I’m going to show you how to use the Fast Navigation Box. And let me tell you something about the FNB. This is a feature that not too many traders know about, but it’s very handy if you want to look into past price action.

Let’s imagine that you are analyzing how the market reacts during non-farm payrolls. And if you don’t know how to use the Fast Navigation Box, you are going to have to scroll with your mouse into Past Price Action. But let’s go to the MT4 Platform so I can show you how it really works. So the Fast Navigation Box is this wide box at the lower left corner of your chart. It can be activated by double clicking on the lower left corner or by just selecting the chart and pressing on the Space key or the Enter key on your keyboard.

Now, as I told you, the best feature of the FNB is to go into Past Price Action. But you can also use it to change the time frame of your chart and to change the asset that you are looking at. So let’s start here on the GBP/USD for our chart. Let’s activate the Fast Navigation Box, and let’s change the time frame from the four-hour chart to the one-hour chart. You just write 60 and then you click Enter.

And as you can see, we have changed it from the four-hour chart to the one-hour chart. If you want to change it back the four-hour chart, you would just type 240 minutes, which is four hours, and you click Enter. And if you want to change into the 50-minute, you just click 50 minutes. You just click 50, and there you go. You can change it to the 50-minute chart.

You can also change the asset that is being represented by the chart by just writing it down on the FNB And by just writing your Euro/U.S. dollar, we have changed it from the GBP/USD to the Euro/U.S. Dollar. And if we want to change it to U.S. dollar/Swiss franc, for example, we can do it also with the Fast Navigation Box. And of course, the most handy feature of the Fast Navigation Box is the ability to change the date on your charts.

And let’s imagine that you are looking here on the Euro/U.S. dollar, okay, and you want to know what happened on the last non-farm payroll Friday, how the market reacted. If you didn’t know about the Fast Navigation Box, you would have to click on your chart and then drag, and then click and then drag, and then click and then drag, okay, which is a drag by itself. And with the Fast Navigation Box, you only have to type in the year that you want to look at, a dot, and then the month, and then the date, and just click Enter. And as you can see, we are now looking at May 12, 2013 and the price action that we wanted to look at. And it’s that simple. And not too many traders know about this secret. But as you can see, it’s a very handy feature on your MT4 Platform.
