Video Transcript:

Hello, traders. Welcome to the NinjaTrader tutorial and the third module, SuperDOM Overview. In this lesson, we’re going to learn about order display, and what I’m going to teach you is how different orders display on the SuperDOM and how easy it is to modify them within it.

Order Display on SuperDom

So, here’s this SuperDOM and the chart on CL 09-15. As you can see, we have the orders placed on our chart, but we also have the orders placed on our SuperDOM. As you can see right here, we have a buy stop limit order at 50-83 for one contract, we have a stop order or a sell stop order at 50-54 for one contract and we have a buy limit order at 50-50 for one contract. You have to remember that if you want to sell below market price, you have to use a stop order. If you want to buy below market price, you have to use a limit order and vice versa. If you want to buy above the market, you have to use a buy stop order and if you want to sell above market, you have to use a limit sell order.

Now, for you to be able to modify these orders within your DOM, you have to click on the order and then move it to a higher level or click on it and move it to a lower level. The same goes for the buy limit order and for the buy stop limit order. If you want to modify the quantity on your orders, it’s easy. You have to suspend the SuperDOM by clicking once on the space-bar on your keyboard. When you click on the space-bar on your keyboard, you will see that the SuperDOM is suspended because the background turns yellow. You can also see that the SuperDOM is suspended because there is no movement in the ladder, and you can see that now price is trading at 50-66, 50-67 but the last price traded on the SuperDOM is 50-63.

SuperDom order display

Once the SuperDOM is suspended, you just click on the quantity and you can modify it within the SuperDOM as easy as this. You can modify all three types of orders within the SuperDOM by doing this, and when you have done it, you just click again on your space-bar in your keyboard and the SuperDOM will be again enabled.

And this is how orders are displayed and how orders can be modified within the SuperDOM. And if you want to close all orders or eliminate these pending orders on the SuperDom, because, for example, price didn’t get to the levels you anticipated, you just go and click here on close and all orders will disappear from your SuperDOM.
