Video Transcript:

Hello traders. Welcome to the Advanced MT4 course, and the first module which is the Introduction to the MT4 Platform. And on this lesson, we’re going to teach you how to download and open a demo account. Remember that the MT4 platform can be used both for Forex and for binary options, but if you are a binary options trader, you would want to open a demo account because you are going to be placing your trades on your binary options broker, not on the MetaTrader 4.

But you need the MetaTrader 4 in order for you to be able to analyze price action on the currency pairs, stock indices, commodities, et cetera, or whatever it is that you are trading. So we’re going to start from the very beginning tool, and teach you how to download and open a demo account, and by the end of this course, you will be able to use proprietary indicators, you will be able to upload them to your MT4 platform, you will be able to set price alerts, and you will be able to set pending orders, et cetera.

Downloading MT4

So let’s start with opening a demo account and downloading the platform, okay? The first thing you want to do is you need to go to Investoo.com, and then you go to the Compare Brokers option, and you click on Forex Brokers, okay? And here, you will have the list of the best Forex brokers out there, and you choose one of them to open your demo account with. In this case, we’re going to go with Markets.com, so we are going to click the Visit Broker button right here. And the Markets.com website will open. Then, you to go Trading Platforms, and of course we choose MetaTrader, and because we are only using MetaTrader to analyze price action on for you that trade actual binary options, it doesn’t matter which broker you will choose to download your MetaTrader form. But if you are actually trading Forex, you might want to check out the comparisons and the information of the pips, of the spreads, and the maximum leverage, the minimum deposits, and all the requirements before you choose your broker. And here, we just click on Download MetaTrader, and we wait for the execution file to download onto our computer.

Opening account on MT4

Now that the execution file has been downloaded, we just click on it and we just follow the steps to correctly set up our MetaTrader on our computer. So we click on Next and we agree with the terms of the broker, and we go here. So we’ll be right back when the platform is correctly set up on my computer so we can go and create an account with Markets.com.

Okay, we are back, and as you can see, the MetaTrader 4 from Markets.com has been correctly set up on my computer, and we have a link to the Markets.com live server right here. So we go and we click on Next, and we click New De-. Now, what I’m going to do right now is I’m going to pause the video because I am going to type my personal details right here and I’m going to open a demo account with $5,000. Remember that the amount doesn’t matter because we’re trading binary options, but if you’re trading Forex and you’re starting with a demo account, my advice is that you open your demo account with $5,000 because some brokers offer you $100,000 to start with on a demo account, which is very unreal because if you’re a beginner trader, you’re not going to start with $100,000. So the deposit really doesn’t matter, but let me type my personal details and we’ll be right back.

Okay, so my account has been created, and I just have to type my login and my password before I log in to the platform, and it’s that easy. We are now connected with the Markets.com server, and as you can see down here on the bottom left corner, we are now online with the Markets.com, and this is how we open…

I’m sorry for that, this is just the MT4 platform telling you that you have something on your mailbox, which is the registration, and as you can see, well, we opened an account with $100,000 because we couldn’t open it with $5,000 but it doesn’t matter because it is only a demo. Now this is how you create your account and this is how you download the platform.

And as you can see here, you have the terminal, which is where your orders will be. Once we start opening trades, you will see your active trades and your active orders if your orders are pending right here, and of course, if you are trading binary options, the terminal is of no use for you. And the other things that we need to go through is this. Here, you can see that we have the practice account which is called Investoo Demo. And right here is where all your indicators are, the list of indicators and the list of expert advisors and scripts. We are going to go through the difference between scripts, expert advisors, and indicators further on this course, okay?

And right here, you can see all the assets that are tradable on Markets.com. And if you want to see all, you have to click on Show All, and you can actually click here to have a better vision of all the assets that you can analyze. You have a bunch of currency pairs, all the majors and minors and the exotics, and exotics like the Canadian dollar and Norwegian krone, which not a lot of people trade. And right here, you have the stocks – Apple, Alcoa, Google, eBay, Microsoft, et cetera. And you have all the stock indices right here and all the commodities, so just crude oil, natural gas, sugar, cotton, which can also be traded with binary options. And if you want to trade gold, you should know that gold is [inaudible 00:07:23] USD, and of course you have all the precious metals right here.

So as you can see, if you really want to have an entire grasp of different markets, or all the markets that you can trade with binary options broker, you should go with Markets.com for your demo account.
